Frequently Asked Questions

Can I filter for specific combinations of Pokemon types?

Yup! You can pick up to two types at once - perfect for finding those rare type combos. Just click on the types you want in the filter section. Want Ice/Dragon Pokemon? No problem! Just tap those two types and hit generate. Keep in mind though, if you pick a really specific combo like Normal/Ghost, you might not get any results since some type combinations don't exist in the games. If you're into team building, our team builder can help you turn those random picks into a solid squad.

Why do some Pokemon not show up even when my filters seem right?

This usually happens because of the stat filters! Those sliders at the bottom of the filter section set minimum values for HP, Attack, and other stats. If you've got them set too high (like requiring 200+ Speed), you'll miss out on a lot of Pokemon. Try hitting the 'Reset Filters' button and starting fresh if you're not getting any matches.

How are legendary and mythical Pokemon handled in the randomizer?

There are special toggle buttons for both legendary and mythical Pokemon in the filter section. By default, they're included in the random picks, but you can specifically filter for just legendaries (like Mewtwo or Rayquaza) or mythicals (like Mew or Celebi) if you want. Super helpful when you're building a team and need some powerhouses!

Does the randomizer include Pokemon from all generations?

You bet! We've got every single Pokemon from Gen 1 all the way through Gen 9, including regional variants. You can use the generation filter to focus on specific gens - great for when you're playing older games or just feeling nostalgic for Gen 1. Each generation is clearly labeled, so you know exactly what you're getting.

What's the deal with hidden abilities in the Pokemon display?

When you generate a Pokemon, you'll see all its possible abilities listed at the bottom of the card. Regular abilities show up in plain badges, but hidden abilities (the special ones that are harder to get in-game) have a different style and are marked with '(Hidden)'. Really handy when you're planning teams and want to know all your options!
